Components of the Academy

Missouri Academy for Leadership and Community Action is a 12-month engagement that gives high-potential leaders the tools, experiences and connections needed to become change agents, inclusive leaders and advocates.  The curriculum empowers individuals to take action.

One of the core elements of the curriculum is the development and implementation of community action portfolios.  Each member will create a portfolio that includes a plan to develop a unique community project

Each academy participant will be matched with an Academy Advisor based on individual needs and interests.  During the project development phase, ideas and feedback from Academy Advisors and facilitators ensure that each portfolio meets a community need.

Networking with fellow participants, advisors and facilitators is an essential element of the academy.
