The Missouri Academy for Leadership
and Community Action is designed to provide you with the critical
leadership and management skills you need now and for your future. The
Academy is a collaborative learning process that incorporates
development, mentoring, networking opportunities and the creation of a
portfolio which will allow you to:

• Develop your leadership aptitude
• Empower yourself and others

individuals who have initiative and a vision for the future as well as
those who strive for continuous
improvement.

Components of the Academy
Development
Missouri Academy for Leadership and
Community Action is a 12-month engagement that gives high-potential
leaders the tools, experiences and connections needed to become change
agents, inclusive leaders and advocates. The curriculum empowers
individuals to take action.
Portfolio
One of the core elements of the
curriculum is the development and implementation of community action
portfolios. Each member will create a portfolio that includes a plan to
develop a unique community project
Mentoring
Each academy participant will be matched with an Academy
Advisor based on individual needs and interests. During the project
development phase, ideas and feedback from Academy Advisors and
facilitators ensure that each portfolio meets a community need.
Networking
Networking with fellow participants, advisors and facilitators is an essential element of the academy.
