About Community Action
HELPING PEOPLE REACH SELF-SUFFICIENCY FOR MORE THAN 50 YEARS
Missouri’s nonprofit Community Action Agencies (CAAs) work across Missouri to help people achieve self sufficiency. CAAs provide localized, direct services to low-income Missourians. Programs include:
- Energy and Housing: CAAs help alleviate energy and housing burdens through programs like energy efficiency and transitional housing.
- Food: CAAs help feed families through community gardening and summer food programs.
- Education: CAAs equip families through Head Start, employment training, and workforce development.
- Health: CAAs offer preventative care, women’s health programs, and child dental screenings.
- Family and Economic Security: CAAs provide a variety of programs to promote economic security like life skills training and financial programs.
